In a dramatic courtroom saga, a 28-year-old French escort girl finds herself at the centre of a complex legal battle in Monaco. The case, revolving around accusations of theft and deceit, paints a vivid picture of a night gone awry.
The young woman, enjoying a stay in an Airbnb in France, has been operating professionally in Monaco for several years. The night in question, saw her allegedly making off with over 150.000 euros in watches and jewellery from a client, as compensation for what she deemed an “underpaid service.”
The Scene
The client’s partner, frustrated with his drinking, had left to stay with a relative. Seizing the opportunity, the man joined a friend, indulging heavily at local nightspots The evening ended with him almost comatose from alcohol.
The next morning, in their apartment in Monaco the couple discovered the disappearance of a valuable Rolex and jewellery, a luxury bag, and over 1000 euros in cash. Suspicion quickly fell on a young woman escort, identified through surveillance footage with the man and from a phone call to a taxi.
In court, the escort denied the theft, claiming the client had insufficient funds to pay her agreed fee for a sexual act, offering only 50 euros. To avoid trouble, especially with his partner learning of his infidelity, she claimed he handed over his watch and jewellery.
The magistrate was unimpressed, accusing her of exploiting the man’s drunken state to steal high-value items. Despite her insistence that the client was conscious and cooperative, and that she had discarded some of the stolen items, her story was riddled with inconsistencies. Messages sent to one of her relatives detailing the loot further undermined her defense.
The prosecutor called for a strong message to be sent. He recommended a twelve-month prison sentence and a five-year ban from Monaco.
Defending the escort, her lawyer pleaded for leniency, citing her clean record since 2019 and the need to support her family.
Ultimately, the court sided with the prosecution, enforcing the prison sentence and the ban from Monaco.
Grand Prix Chaos: Reckless Driver Jailed After Near Miss with Police Officer
In the heart-pounding atmosphere of the Monaco Grand Prix, a 24-year-old’s rash decisions led to his incarceration. Despite the event’s high security, his defiance of police orders escalated to a perilous act of driving towards a public safety officer, who narrowly avoided being hit. This incident, among others involving intoxicated drivers, filled the court’s docket over the eventful weekend.
A Moment of Panic
The young driver had blatantly disregarded police commands three times. At the third checkpoint, he accelerated towards an officer, who had to leap aside to avoid the oncoming vehicle. The gravity of his actions led to his immediate pre-trial detention and a swift summary trial. With no prior criminal record, the court handed him a six-month sentence, five of which were suspended, and imposed a five-year ban from Monaco, as urged by the Public Prosecutor.
The driver attributed his actions to a moment of panic, acknowledging the seriousness of his behavior. He recognized his responsibility to face the consequences of his misjudgments.
In addition to these charges, the driver refused a drug test, leading to further prosecution. Police discovered drug paraphernalia on his passenger, who now also faces charges of possession and importation of narcotics.
