Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella’s Fourth Birthday Party!
On 10 December, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella turned four and celebrated their birthday with a superhero themed party. The Prince’s palace hosted many young party guests and was colourfully decorated with Superman and Spiderman balloons alongside Batgirl and Wonder Woman decorations. Princess Gabriella held a balloon animal and her brother held a Captain America shield; two of the surprises they received on their special day. A beautiful cake decorated with fresh fruit held four candles for the twins at their vibrant party. Monaco’s firefighters also made a surprise visit for the occasion in the palace’s courtyard.
Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice attend Opening of La Scala Season in Milan
On 7 December 2018, Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo Casiraghi attended the opening of 2018-2019 season of La Scala opera house in Milan, Italy. Beatrice wore a beautiful one shoulder Giorgio Armani Prive gown for the occasion.
La Scala, also known as Teatro alla Scala, opened the season with the Verdi’s Attila, conducted by Riccardo Chailly. The theatre is regarded as one of the leading opera and ballet theatres in the world, where Italy’s greatest operatic artists and many of the finest singers from around the world perform.
Princely Couple gives Christmas Gifts to Seniors and Children
Christmas came early this year in Principality. Prince Albert and Princess Charlene gave out hundreds of presents to children and seniors with the Monegasque Red Cross on Thursday. The Princely couple first visited the Rosine Sanmorie nursery, where fifty children performed a special show for them, titled ‘Starry Christmas Night in Monaco’. The couple then went to visit the eldest members of the Principality.
The Prince, who is also the honorary president of Monaco’s Red Cross, recognized some of the seniors and addressed them by name, before presenting them each with a gift bags in Monaco’s colours. Inside the gift bags were: a scarf, an umbrella and a gift basket full of goodies, including a half-bottle of champagne, foie gras, tomato and truffle salad, mashed potatoes, chocolate, fig jam and more. The gifts were beautifully prepared to wish the Principality’s youngest and eldest a happy Christmas.
Prince Albert attends PEN Club of Monaco’s 50th Anniversary
The PEN Club of Monaco celebrated its 50th anniversary in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II during an awards ceremony. Founded in 1968 in the Principality, the PEN Club is a literary association for poets, essayists and novelists.
Jean-Yves Giraudon, president of the club, said that the presence of Prince Albert II at the event was an exceptional honour for the club, which is one reason why the PEN Club presented the Sovereign with a trophy. Since its birth, the Club’s main goal has been to defend freedom of expression.
Prince Albert Inaugurates Pedestrian Underpass at Monaco Station
HSH the Sovereign Prince inaugurated the new underground pedestrian pathway at Monaco Station, in the presence of Minister of State Serge Telle, Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Minister of Equipment, Environment and Urbanism, Stéphane Valéri, President of the National Council, Mayor Georges Marsan and Patrick Dubief, Monaco Station Manager.
Started in January 2017, construction of the 80-metre long link lasted nearly two years and had a budget of 10 million Euros. This is an important path for reducing pedestrian traffic at the exit of the station and at the Sainte Dévote bridge. Monaco is the second most popular station in the Côte d’Azur after Nice, with 6.7 million trips every year, up from 2.3 million in 1998.
