A moving choice was made by Pierre Casiraghi and his wife Beatrice for the first name of their first child. The young parents baptized their son, born on the 28th of February, Stefano, like his grandfather. Stefano Casiraghi, husband of Caroline of Monaco, father of Andrea, Charlotte and Pierre, died in 1990, in a racing boat accident, off Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Pierre had just turned three.
Pierre Casiraghi and his wife Beatrice, born Borromeo, gave their son the names, according to the Spanish magazine “Hola!”: Stefano, Ercole and Carlo. This last name, Carlo, is also that of the grandfather and maternal uncle of the child – the father and brother of Beatrice. As for Ercole, it could be a nod to the port Hercules (Ercole in Italian), the great maritime symbol of Monaco…
Little Stefano, born in Monaco
Little Stefano was born in Monaco, in the maternity ward of the Princess Grace Hospital. The information, revealed by reliable sources from the Royal Blog of Paris Match, was confirmed officially by a joint statement from the two grandmothers, Princess Caroline of Monaco and Countess Paola Marzotto, transmitted to the magazine “Hola!” that the mother and child were doing very well.
The little boy is the fourth grandchild of Caroline of Monaco. His cousins are the two children of Andrea Casiraghi and his wife Tatiana Santo Domingo, Sacha, 4 years old and India, who will soon be 2 years old; as well as Raphael, 3, the son of Charlotte Casiraghi and her former companion, actor and comedian Gad Elmaleh.
A couple since 2008, Pierre and Beatrice were joined in marriage in the summer of 2015, in two stages: first civilly in Monaco, on the 25th of July, then religiously on the 1st of August on Isola Bella, owned by the Beatrice family, the Borromeos, one of the most famous families of Italian nobility. Today, the young family live happily together between Monaco and Italy.
