Monaco’s glamorous Larvotto beach saw the captivating 9th edition of the FxPRO Monte-Carlo beach volleyball women’s competition from 17th to 18th June.
The competition, presided by Prince Albert II of Monaco, is the only Monegasque and French event to be a part of the World Tour 2017 of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball.
The event brought together the world’s 16 best teams to compete for the remarkable price of 10,000$ and the Coupe du Prince. With such a prize at stake, the 32 players were evaluated on their strategy, technique and their overall mastery of the game. Women from Europe, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, and especially from Brazil and the United Kingdom, which are known for their numerous champions in this sport, flaunted their talents over the course of two days under the Monegasque sun.
This competition also served as a decisive warm up for the upcoming Beach Volley Ball World Championships of Vienna later in July and August.
The final game was held on 18th June at 4pm and was featuring many of Monaco’s finest guests. Afterwards, the distribution of the prize along with the honorable ‘Coupe du Prince’ concluded the eventful week-end.
On June 18th the Brazil national anthem was turned on for the winner of the 9th edition of the FxPro Monte Carlo Beach Volley. The second place was after a team from Germany, and a Greek team took home the bronze medals.
