Pirelli announced that it has selected three compounds in its range of Formula 1 tires for the Monaco Grand Prix, the sixth round of the 2018 F1 World Championship. The sole manufacturer of Formula 1 tires has decided to select hyper-soft, ultra-soft and super-soft tires for the F1 race.
The Monaco Grand Prix will be the first race of the season to feature the new hyper-tender compound, identifiable by its pink marking on its flanks. Monaco is the first race this year where the teams have had the freedom to pick their compounds beyond the mandatory two sets of tires nominated by Pirelli.
