His appointment, Adi Hütter… The first words of Thiago Scuro

Present alongside the new coach of AS Monaco, Adi Hütter, for his presentation to the media this Thursday at the Performance Center, the Director of Football of the Principality club spoke about the appointment of the latter and the upcoming season.

He was brimming with back-to-school energy this Thursday at the training center. After the first physical tests carried out by the Rouge et Blanc at the start of the week, and before the official arrival of Adi Hütter, the players of AS Monaco completed their first two sessions with their new coach.

His first words in French!

The 53-year-old Austrian technician then took part today in the traditional exercise of being presented to the press, in the company of Director of Football, Thiago Scuro. The latter, who spoke beforehand to the thirty or so journalists present in the auditorium of the Performance Center, first wanted to say a few words in French: “Hello, my name is Thiago Scuro. I am very happy to be here and to have the opportunity to lead the sporting project of a club as prestigious as the ‘AS Monaco.’

A good knowledge of Ligue 1

Eager to master the language “as quickly as possible”, the Monegasque leader insisted that he was joining “an internationally renowned club”, including in his country of origin, Brazil. He then assured that he had been immediately convinced by the project which had been presented to him, underscoring that Ligue 1 is a very competitive league. “Having been in football for years, I am used to following many leagues and in particular this one. I know how high the level is, especially physically,” he added.

Get back into Europe and the Top 3

Asked about his main objective when taking up his duties alongside Adi Hütter, Thiago Scuro was ambitious this time: “I have been able to study the recent seasons of the Club, including the last six months. My mission will now be to continue to develop the team, and above all to bring AS Monaco back to Europe and to the top table. All players and employees must be focused on this objective. We know that in football it takes hard work, and my task will be to convince everyone that it’s possible!”

Adi Hütter, a “team player”

It’s an opinion shared by the new coach of the Rouge et Blanc, whose appointment he justified in view of his career. “My history confirms it, I have always had a long relationship with my coaches. The goal for me is also to establish a certain stability. Adi is a ‘team player’, capable of being a leader for the staff and the players. We have very good collaborators here at AS Monaco, and he is the best to carry out this collective project. At his various clubs, he has always been successful and has shown his qualities,” he added. , referring among other things to the titles he won in Salzburg and Bern.

A dynamic and aggressive style of play

Before evoking the exciting style of play advocated by the Austrian technician in his previous experiences, including his most recent ones in Frankfurt and Mönchengladbach: “Adi plays aggressive, dynamic and exciting football, with constant pressure on the opponent. Our objective once again is to find success, and that will come through this philosophy. We want to impose this style of play over time.”

A message from “coach Adi” to the supporters

Already “accomplices,” even if they had not had the opportunity to meet within the Red Bull group, the two men then headed to the rooftop of the Performance Center to pose in front of photographers. By the way, Adi Hütter did not fail to complete his first press conference with a “DAGHE MUNEGU” addressed to the supporters of AS Monaco.

On Sunday, he will lead his first friendly match on the number 1 pitch against Union Saint-Gilloise (11 AM kickoff, behind closed doors).
