In a bold move, Monaco Rugby Sevens (MR7) has appointed former French international Yannick Nyanga as their new general manager. Nyanga, who earned 46 caps with the French national team and clinched the Six Nations title in 2006, is set to lead MR7 during the In Extenso Supersevens final on February 1st in Paris.

Nyanga’s illustrious playing career includes significant achievements with top French clubs. At Stade Toulousain, he secured the European championship in 2010 and three French championships in 2008, 2011, and 2012. He later added another national title in 2016 with Racing 92.

MR7 highlighted Nyanga’s alignment with the club’s core values, stating, “Yannick Nyanga embodies perseverance and team spirit, qualities he will bring to MR7 as we approach the In Extenso Supersevens final on a pitch he knows well from his time with Racing 92.”

The club emphasized that Nyanga will offer “his expertise to support the coaches in the sporting management of the team.”

Emmanuel Falco, MR7’s executive chairman, expressed enthusiasm about the appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Yannick Nyanga to MR7. His human values, his experience in top-level rugby, and his approach to management will be invaluable assets for our team.”

MR7 has demonstrated impressive form leading up to the final, achieving third place in Mont-de-Marsan, second in La Rochelle, and securing victory in Pau.
