The IMPIs Triumph in the Bowl Category

The IMPIs first team, Monaco’s premier rugby squad, returned home with the Bowl trophy in hand—a testament to their determination and skill in the face of fierce competition. After a promising opening victory against the Froggies (12-7), they faced setbacks, including a heavy defeat to Shogun FC from South Africa (0-31) and a narrow loss to Olorun (12-14).

Despite the challenges, the IMPIs regrouped to secure victories against Baltrex-Siauliai (19-0) and Ukraine (26-10), ultimately clinching the Bowl.

Captain Ioan Tolosano and club standout Archie Russell were pivotal, earning substantial game time and recognition for their efforts.

Youth Teams: A Platform for Growth

The younger squads also had a taste of international competition. The development team began their campaign with a perfect group stage, winning all three matches, only to be stopped short in the quarter-finals by the formidable Dubai College Old Boys (7-29).

The U16 team, part of the Princess Charlene Foundation’s rugby exchange program, played three friendly matches, winning one. While the results on the pitch were mixed, the focus was on growth and exposure.

Beyond the Rugby Field

The journey wasn’t just about rugby. Off the field, the teams embraced the cultural richness of the UAE, visiting landmarks like the Abu Dhabi Grand Mosque, the Louvre Museum, and the Abrahamic House. These excursions added a unique dimension to their experience, fostering bonds and broadening horizons.

H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the event, lending his support and enthusiasm.

A Vision for the Future

The participation of these teams in Dubai underscores the commitment of the Monaco Rugby Federation and the Princess Charlene Foundation to nurturing talent and fostering values such as teamwork and sportsmanship.

As the players returned home, they carried with them not just trophies or lessons, but memories of a journey that united them as athletes and ambassadors of Monaco.
