As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the unforgettable European campaign by the players from the Rock, AS Monaco and COPA have wished to pay tribute to one of the most beautiful chapters in the Club’s history by launching, in limited edition, the replica of the jersey worn during this extraordinary adventure.
During this legendary journey that marked an entire generation of Monaco supporters and captivated the whole of France, the Principality’s club achieved several resounding feats to reach the final of the 2003-2004 edition of the Champions
A jersey symbolizing monumental achievements
Led by heroic players such as their captain Ludovic Giuly, Fernando Morientes, Jérôme Rothen, Patrice Evra, Flavio Roma, Gaël Givet, and even Dado Pršo, AS Monaco first inflicted a historic 8-3 defeat on Deportivo La Coruña at the Stade Louis-II during the group stage.
Didier Deschamps’ squad then emerged victorious in a thrilling quarter-final against the Galacticos of Real Madrid before overcoming Chelsea in a breathtaking semi-final, thus setting a rendezvous for the entire Red & White fans in Gelsenkirchen, the venue for the competition’s final.
True to the jersey of that time, this collector’s jersey is also equipped, for the first time, with an NFC chip placed under the Champions League badge on the right sleeve. This chip will allow supporters, through their smartphone and the ZATAP application, to access exclusive content and numerous surprises related to this epic forever etched in memories.
Memories of Ludovic Giuly
Serving as a symbol of the connection between AS Monaco’s glorious past and those defending the Club’s colours today, this jersey is showcased through a photo shoot featuring Ludovic Giuly, the iconic captain of the 2003-2004 team, and several players from the current squad (Youssouf Fofana, Folarin Balogun, Takumi Minamino, Wilfried Singo, Eliot Matazo, and Ismail Jakobs).
Mythical Outfits
The Rock club has regularly collaborated with the COPA brand in recent years to bring back to light mythical outfits, such as those from the 1982-1983, 1987-1988 seasons, or last year’s 1996-1997 jersey.
