AS Monaco were unfortunate to concede a last minute winner on Wednesday evening (1-0).
Defeat at the death. As the game was heading for a goalless stalemate that would have been a fair result, AS Monaco conceded in the very last second of the match against Nantes (1-0). Lima’s thumping effort from the edge of the box left Subasic with no chance, after the Croatian ‘keeper had earlier made several fine saves.
Though perhaps lacking a cutting edge up front, Leonardo Jardim’s men had nonetheless produced a disciplined and well-organised performance, as did their opponents. It looked to be enough to take a point back to the Principality, until that late, late show. The results sees the Red & Whites slide to 4th place in the table, 2 points behind Olympique Marseille and level with Lyon who were beaten at home by Lille. As Kamil Glik and the coach predicted, humility, hard work and attention to detail will be key in the coming weeks.
