Princess Charlene at the 76th Monaco Grand Prix and ACM Gala Dinner
Prince Albert and Princess Charlene attended the 76th Annual Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Circuit de Monaco on the 27th of May. After Daniel Ricciardo’s big win, Princess Charlene looked happy as she drank champagne at the podium in a beautiful and colourful silk dress by AKRIS, the Swiss luxury fashion house.
Prince Albert II of Monaco and Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the ACM Gala Dinner as part of the Grand Prix at the Monte Carlo Sporting Salle Des Etoiles. Princess Charlene looked gorgeous in a sparkly black dress by Ralph Lauren.
Princess Charlene celebrates Mother’s Day at CHPG
Just before the Grand Prix on Sunday, Princess Charlene visited young mothers in the maternity ward at the Princess Grace Hospital. The Princess honoured the princely tradition on Mother’s Day and gave the moms special gifts, with the assistance of the Monegasque Red Cross and its volunteers.
At 11 am, Princess Charlene, accompanied by her brother Sean Wittstock went, met eight new babies born in the Principality, four girls and four boys. After holding the babies in her arms and talking with the young mothers, gifts were presented to the families. For each child, the Red Cross gave a bib and a bathrobe made by embroiderers from the Boutique du Rocher. The Princess personally gifted a Saint Devote medal and a box of chocolates to each of the new moms.
Prince Albert inaugurates e-HealthWorld Monaco
Prince Albert inaugurated this year’s e-HealthWorld Monaco event at the Fairmont, where hundreds of medical professionals came together in the name of innovation, technology and health. Highlights of the fair included a virtual reality simulation created so users can practice surgery on a virtual human body. ‘Twin Medical’ allows learners to undergo the intricate, technical procedures of a surgery, as well as more subtle interactions with medical staff, nurses and anesthetists.
Pepper, the humanoid robot created to help patients, was back at the event this year. Standing at one meter twenty, Pepper can converse with and understand humans, help patients with pre-diagnosis, medical reminders and tips and transmit important videos from doctors to patients.
Princess Caroline at e-HealthWorld event Supporting Pregnant women in Africa
Princess Caroline visited the e-HealthWorld salon, dedicated to new technologies in the medical field. The 2018 edition of the event looked at how new technologies can help pregnant women in Africa. In places where there are no doctors, for example, help and advice can be remotely transmitted to midwives with a smartphone. This notion of exchange between Africa and other countries attracted the attention of Princess Caroline. She took part in the exchanges between a group of specialists behind the ‘Zero Mothers Die’ app and the public. Every day, 800 women die from pregnancy-related problems. The app’s goal is to fight against maternal mortality through mobile technology.
Prince Albert inaugurates congress about LPG fuel alternatives
Prince Albert inaugurated the International Congress on Liquefied Petroleum Gases at the Grimaldi Forum, an opportunity to take a closer look at fuels and gases which are better for the environment.
Liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) is a mixture of light hydrocarbons, composed of butane and propane, and represents an alternative to traditional fuels. According to Jaume Loffredo, policy manager for the organizing association, LPGs are a sustainable solution in the fight against climate change and air pollution. The AEGPL congress was held in Monaco for the first time ever.
Prince Albert and Princess Caroline attend Feast of Corpus Christi
During the Feast of Corpus Christi, on 31 May, Prince Albert of Monaco and Princess Caroline greeted the procession of the Blessed Sacrament in the Palace’s courtyard. The Roman Catholic Feast of Corpus Christi (which is Latin for ‘Body of Christ’) is celebrated on the Thursday following the Holy Trinity, sixty days after Easter.
