Happy 67th Birthday, Prince Albert II!
Prince Albert Alexandre Louis Pierre Grimaldi celebrated his 67th trip around the sun on 14 March! Born at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco in 1958, Albert is the second child and only son of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace. He attended the Lycée Albert Premier before studying political science at Amherst College. The Prince is a five-time Olympians, competing in bobsleigh during Winter Games and retiring in 2002. Albert became Sovereign Prince in 2005. He is known as a passionate environmentalist: an advocate for ocean conservation, renewable energy and helping tackle global climate change.
Prince Albert II attends Monegasque Hotel Industries Association’s 80th Anniversary
Prince Albert II attended a celebration for the 80th anniversary of Monegasque Hotel Industries Association (AIHM) at the Hôtel Hermitage on 11 March. Alberte Escande, President of the AIHM, Stephane Valeri, President of the SBM and several members of Government were in attendance. The association helps promote Monaco as a luxury destination.
Princess Caroline attends Spring Arts Festival Concert
The Princess of Hanover attended the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart concert on 12 March at the Hauser & Wirth Gallery. For 1 hour and 20 minutes, six vocalists transported the audience on a hypnotic sound journey. The German ensemble presented ‘Stimmung’ composed by Karlheinz Stockhausen in 1968. The singers, conducted by Matthias Schneider, were seated in a circle facing each other, rather than facing the audience, which added an intimate atmosphere to the concert. The Monte-Carlo Spring Arts Festival began on 12 March and runs until 6 April.
Princess Caroline attends Women of Monaco Awards at the Yacht Club
In the presence of Princess Caroline, the Women of Monaco Lunch & Awards event took place at the Yacht Club de Monaco on 11 March. Dedicated to influential women in the Principality, the event brought together leading female figures from the fields of fashion, art, health, music, media, entrepreneurship and philanthropy.
Guests of honour included Dame Shirley Bassey, Lady Tina Green, Victoria Silvstedt, Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies and designer Isabell Kristensen. The evening raised €14,000 for the Princess Grace of Monaco Foundation.
