Prince Albert II dispatches Supportive Message after Magdeburg Attack
In an official dispatch, Prince Albert II sent a message of support to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, following the deadly attack at a Christmas market in Magdeburg. On 20 December, an SUV drove into a crowd in Magdeburg, northern Germany, leaving five people dead and over 230 injured.
“Mr. Chancellor, I learned with horror about the tragedy at the Magdeburg Christmas market. Together with the families of the victims, the injured and the German people in their grief and dismay, I assure you of my country’s solidarity in the face of this cruel ordeal. Please accept, Mr. Chancellor, the assurance of my profound sadness and my high consideration,” wrote the Sovereign.
Prince Albert II attends ASM Euroleague Basketball Game
Prince Albert II witnessed an incredible match when AS Monaco Basket beat Bayern Munich on 17 December for their 4th victory in 5 matches in the Euroleague. Under the eyes of Prince Albert II, AS Monaco Basket President, Aleksej Fedoricsev, and Executive, Director Oleksiy Yefimov, the Roca Team won with a score of 93-74. The team went on to win two out of their three next three games are currently fourth in the LNB Pro A, behind Paris, Lyon and Cholet.
Latest Issue of ‘Annales Monegasques’ celebrates Prince Albert I
The 2024 edition of the historical review, published by the Archives du Palais is all about “The careers of a prince – Lives and territories of Albert I of Monaco (1848-1922)”. The publication touches various themes including the Prince’s thirty years of oceanographic studies, his friendship and collaboration with the Portuguese naturalist Francisco Afonso Chaves, his relations with France and the Olympic Games in Paris in 1920, when the Principality joined the International Olympic Committee and Monegasque athletes participated for the first time. The print version of the publication is available for €30 and the digital version is available for €10.
Louis and Marie Ducruet share First Family Photo with Newborn Daughter
Louis Ducruet and Marie Ducruet posted a Christmas family photo on social media, taken with their newborn daughter, Constance Ducruet. The couple’s two daughters, Victoire and Constance and their dog, Pancake are in the photo. The faces of the young children are obscured for privacy reasons. Constance Ducruet was born on 2 December 2024.
Princess Caroline makes a Christmas Visit to Cap Fleuri Residence
The Princess of Hannover paid a festive visit to elderly residents at the Cap Fleuri Residence. Princess Caroline met with patients staying in the hospital and residents of the nursing home and distributed gifts to them. The heart-warming visit was organized by Monaco’s Red Cross.
