Prince Albert II Receives Auditors Report
The Board of Auditors submitted the 2024 Annual Public Report to HSH the Sovereign Prince on 13 March 2025. The Chairman of the Board of Auditors, Christian Descheemaeker, submitted the Public Report to the Prince, which was approved by the Principality’s Supreme Auditing Institution on 18 November 2024.
In 2024, the Board of Auditors conducted its first audit of the State’s accounts and financial management for the 2023 financial year. This report, which is mainly intended to enable the Prince to settle the budget for the financial year, has been supplemented this year by a more in-depth audit of the Blue Fund, the Police Department, the Tobacco and Matches Board, the Energy Transition, the Yacht Club de Monaco, the ASM Football Club and more.
Prince Albert II congratulates New President of the International Olympic Committee
While in Greece for the 144th IOC session, Prince Albert II attended the election of Kirsty Coventry, who succeeds Thomas Bach as the new President of the International Olympic Committee for the next eight years. The former Zimbabwean swimmer is the 10th person to be elected to lead the world’s highest sporting body. She is also the first woman to hold this position and the first to represent the African continent at this level. Kirsty Coventry won gold at 2004 and 2008 Olympics in the 200m backstroke as well as 4 silvers and one bronze.
Prince Albert II meets with TV5Monde
A recent press release by TV5Monde, which featured the logo of the Prince’s government, announced that the Principality and TV5Monde will be continuing their partnership. Prince Albert II received Kim Younes, President and CEO of the international French-language channel, on 5 March to discuss continued collaboration as Monaco begins to restructure its audiovisual sector.
At the end of December, the late Minister of State, Didier Guillaume, announced the launch of a new independent public television channel, pending the exit of TV5Monde. However, TV5Monde will continue the global broadcasting of content produced by TVMonaco in more than 200 countries and territories. Currently, a daily news program is broadcast on TV5Monde channels, allowing millions of viewers to follow Monegasque news. The Principality will therefore continue to pay an annual contribution of €5 million.
Prince Albert II presents NBA champion with Superyacht Certificate
Tony Parker, a former NBA champion, received the SEA Index® certificate from the Yacht Club de Monaco’s President, HSH Prince Albert II, during an official ceremony. The list of SEA Index® certified superyachts continues to expand with the addition of Tony Parker’s 35 metre M/Y Infinity Nine, which was built by AvA Yachts in 2022.

Prince Albert II signals the Start of Paris-Nice Cycling Race
Prince Albert II signalled the start of the eighth stage of the Paris-Nice cycling race in Nice on 16 March. One week earlier, the athletes left Yvelines for the south of France. The final stage was a 120-kilometre loop from Nice to Nice. The stage was won by Magnus Sheffield, but Matteo Jorgenson, who finished second in the stage, won the Tour. Matteo Jorgenson is a 25-year-old Californian who lives in Nice.
Princess Caroline attends ‘Aux Cœurs des Mots’ Awards Ceremony
The award ceremony for the ‘Aux Cœurs des Mots’ writing contest was held at the Hôtel Hermitage in the presence of Princess Caroline on 19 March. This fourth edition, was themed ‘My Difference, My Strength’ and brought together students from around the world. Created in 2012, the francophone digital writing contest aims to promote writing and themes relating to three United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Decent Work and Economic Growth. Prince Albert II is the competition’s honourary president.
