The highly anticipated New Moods was officially inaugurated by the Princely Couple on 30 November. The Prince and Princess were accompanied by Stephane Valeri, President of the SBM and Didier Guillaume, Minister of State, Thomas Brezzo, President of the National Council and Georges Marsan, Mayor of Monaco.

The new establishment will open to the public on 5 December.

After unveiling the inaugural plaque, Prince Albert II and HSH Princess Charlene symbolically rekindled the light that had been out for twelve years when they were handed a lightbulb before all the stage lights were turned on.

Princess Charlene is Radiant on the Red Carpet of the World Rugby Awards 2024

Princess Charlene, who is President of the Monegasque Rugby Federation, looked radiant in a black Alexander McQueen suit on the red carpet of the World Rugby Awards on Sunday 24 November at the Sporting Monte-Carlo’s Salle des Étoiles. She was joined by her brother, Gareth Wittstock, Minister of State, Didier Guillaume, and President of the SBM, Stephane Valeri.

Antoine Dupont, captain of the French rugby team, won the Rugby 7s Player of the Year trophy after an incredible season which included winning gold at the Paris Olympics. Princess Charlene presented the Women’s Player of the Year award to Maddison Levi, Australia’s rugby 7s player who set a new world record in a single Olympic Games with 14 tries, in addition to attaining 69 on the HSBC SVNS 2024 circuit, the second-highest total in the history of the series, men and women included. 

Prince Albert II attends Gala in Singapore in support of the Blue Economy

Prince Albert II met with entrepreneurs, NGO leaders and innovative companies working in the collection and recycling of plastics before attending a Monaco-themed gala at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore on 27 November. Organized by the Singapore branch of the Prince Albert II Foundation, the event brought together esteemed guests and philanthropists to support the Foundation’s actions.

In the presence of the Sovereign and guest of honour, HE Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, the evening was marked by an extraordinary auction that raised  5 million Singaporean dollars. These funds will be directed towards the Foundation’s critical initiatives focused on environmental protection, endangered species conservation, clean water access, and sustainable development.

Prince Albert II and Leonardo DiCaprio join forces for Ocean Protection in the Solomon Islands

Prince Albert II and Leonardo DiCaprio recently met in the Solomon Islands with National Geographic’s Pristine Seas team, led by biologist Enric Sala, to explore and protect one of the world’s last pristine marine regions. During a bathyscaphe dive with Monegasque free-diver Pierre Frolla, Prince Albert II discussed marine conservation issues with the Oscar-winning actor and environmentalist. The Solomon Islands are renowned for their exceptional marine biodiversity, but are increasingly threatened by human activities and climate change.

In 2017, Leonardo DiCaprio received the Albert II Foundation Award at the first edition of the Monte-Carlo Gala for the Ocean. In 2015, the Sovereign presented Leonardo DiCaprio with the Albert I Grand Medal.

Princely Family kick-off Holiday Celebrations on the Place du Casino

Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene and their children, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella signalled the start of the holiday season on 30 November as they watched the season’s first light show on the Place du Casino. Stephane Valeri, President of the SBM, Didier Guillaume, Minister of State, and many other Monegasque personalities also attended the ceremony.

A towering 18-metre-high fir tree sparkled with a thousand lights before a captivating sound and light show took place on the façade of the Monte-Carlo Casino. All eyes then turned to five giant Christmas baubles which came to life with decorations inspired by different magical Christmas moments, including Advent, the trimming of the tree, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The Princely Family and Monegasque officials were then invited to take in the magical installations. The ceremony ended with a second light show, launched to musical reinterpretations of Christmas classics. The Magical Christmas Moments sound and light show can now be enjoyed by the public until 5 January 2025.

Princess Stephanie attends 20th Anniversary of Fight Aids Monaco Quilting Ceremony

To mark World Aids Day and the 20th Anniversary of her association, Princess Stephanie attended the Fight Aids Quilting Ceremony at the Oceanographic Museum on 29 November. The association has been supporting people living with HIV and holding the poignant and emotional quilting event since 2011. Names of people who were taken too soon by the disease are stitched into the comforting pieces of art. In a recent press interview, Princess Stephanie said that she looks back over the past 20 years with great pride and looks towards the future with the knowledge that AIDS is still here and she must continue to fight, inform and support people living with HIV.

Prince Albert II attends Inaugural Flower4art Vertical Garden Event

Prince Albert II attended the very first ‘Flower4art’ event at the Hôtel Métropole on 30 November. Organized by the Monegasque association Passion Sea, founded and chaired by Helga Piaget, the event featured a conference by Patrick Blanc, who is the biologist, botanist and researcher who invented vertical gardens in 1986. According to a recent press release, the Passion Sea Association firmly believes in a “green” evolution of the Principality.

The three-day Flower4art event focused on innovative vertical gardens and featured seven international and local projects combining gardens, architecture and sustainability. Students from the International School of Monaco and Françoise Nicolas Barré visited the exhibition and saw flags made by children as part of a ‘World Water Flag’ project, carried out since 2019 by Passion Sea.
