Prince Albert II and Louis Ducruet inaugurate the Ferrari F1 exhibition in Monaco
Prince Albert II and his nephew, Louis Ducruet, opened the “Ferrari F1 in Monaco: History and Victories” exhibition on Thursday 9 May 2024 at the Prince’s Car Collection. Held until 31 August 2024, the exhibition retraces the fascinating history of Ferrari in the Principality, which officially began on 21 May 1950 during Ferrari’s first participation in the Monaco Grand Prix. That year, Alberto Ascari finished in second place at the wheel of a 125S, the first in a very long series of podium finishes for the Italian manufacturer. Since then, Ferrari has claimed nine victories, as well as numerous pole positions and several fastest laps, on the Monaco circuit.
During the inauguration, the Sovereign Prince wore a tie decorated with red race cars and was guided by Franco Meiners, former consultant for Ferrari, and Valérie Closier, Director of the Car Collection. Ten single-seaters driven by legends like Michael Schumacher, Niki Lauda, Gilles Villeneuve and Sebastian Vettel are on display. Charles Leclerc’s SF90, which drove him to two victories at Spa and Monza in 2019 and joined the Prince’s Car Collection three years ago, is also part of the exhibition.
