CREM Celebrates Its Ninth Anniversary with Prince Albert

In the presence of Prince Albert II and many personalities of Monaco, Louisette Azzoaglio Levy-Soussan gathered some two hundred guests on July 1st around the pool of Villa Key Largo at the port of Cap d’Ail to celebrate the ninth anniversary of the association. In her role as President she made the point that CREM in modest measure, reflects the image of what the Principality is under the guidance of its Princes – an example of unity in diversity. Founded in 2010, at the initiative of Prince Albert II and Louisette Azzoaglio Levy-Soussan, the Club now has more than 400 members and nearly 40 different nationalities.

Commemorations for Prince Albert I

On Tuesday July 2nd at sea, with the beautiful Oceanographic Institute, in the background, Prince Albert II laid a wreath in the waters of the Mediterranean. It was in remembrance of his great great grandfather Prince Albert I who was a distinguished sailor and scientific explorer. The Prince also unveiled the Prince Albert I Commemoration Committee logo, which was exhibited first in December 2018, in preparation for celebrations planned to take place between 2019 and 2022, the latter date being the centenary of the passing of the Royal explorer and scientist. This allows time for a detailed commemoration of the pioneering work of the man Monegasques revere as “the learned Prince”.

Prince Albert Attends Celebration Of 131st Anniversary Of The Societe Des Regates

To celebrate the 131st anniversary of the Societe des Regates Prince Albert attended a blessing of two new boats by the Deacon of Sainte-Devote, Robert Ferrua. The Societe des Regates was the original institution superseded nowadays by the Monaco Yacht Club and the Nautical Society of Monaco. One boat, whose patron of the launch was José Boeri, President of the Automobile Club of Monaco, was a specially constructed “rowing eight” in carbon fibre made in the same mold of the original constructed in wood by the traditional boat-builders Donoratico in Tuscany. It is named Marie-José after José Boeri’s wife. The prior wooden rowing eight, now retired, had last been blessed in 1997 the celebratory year of 700 years under the Grimaldis. The other boat whose patron of the launch was Rina Spence, Monaco’s Consul in Boston, was a solo skiff (fishing kayak). Jean-Marc Giraldi, President of the Nautical Society of Monaco also attended the launchings.

Prince Albert Witnesses Award Of Officer Of Legion Of Honour

In the presence of the Sovereign Prince, Serge Telle, Minister of State, and high personalities of the Principality, Patrice Cellario, Minister of the Interior has just been awarded, the insignia of Officer of the Legion of Honor by HE Marine Carné de Trecesson, Ambassador of France in the Principality. Doctor of Engineering and Physicist, Patrice Cellario joined the Monegasque administration in 1982 and held the position of Technical Director of Stade Louis II. From 2009 to 2015, Patrice Cellario became Director General of the Department of the Interior and then on March 26, 2015, he was appointed Minister of the Interior. He is the first Monegasque to occupy this position.

A Photo Expo Opened By Prince Albert Is Celebrated In Moscow

A photographic Exposition which Prince Albert opened in Moscow will remain open until July 28th. The body of work which centres on “a woman diving” had caught the attention of Ekaterina Semenikhina, Russian consul in Monaco. The consul has made available the rooms of her foundation in Moscow which also hosted ten years ago the exhibition dedicated to the Princess Grace. The photos are by Olivier Jude and diver Sylvie Laurent who is herself featured in the exhibits. The Russian press have named the photographic technique: “the Monte Carlo method” describing how to take a marine photo while at the same revealing an outdoor landscape reflected in the water. In one of the photos one can see the diver Silvie brandishing a Russian flag, underwater, at the foot of the Oceanographic Museum creating a much appreciated link between the Principality and the Russian audience.

Prince Albert Attends The Yacht-Club Announcement Of The Initiation Of The Construction Of A Zero Emission Catamaran

In presence of Prince Albert, and on the occasion of Monaco Solar & Energy Boat Challenge ending on July 6th, President of the Monaco Yacht Club, Bernard d’Alessandri, Secretary General of YCM, announced the launch of the construction of the future boat Committee Zero Emission, intended to accompany the regattas and nautical events organized by the Yacht Club. This futuristic Catamaran will serve as a blueprint for the whole yachting industry. The naval architect Espen Oeino designed the hull and the structure, while Dario Calzavara (Terra Modena) took care of the engineering of this 100% ecological catamaran that sails without any carbon emission but also without any acoustic pollution. It may also allow whale watching off the Principality, in total discretion. A morning visit of the sovereign also allowed him to encourage the two Monegasque teams SBM Offshore and Lanéva.

Prince Albert Attends International Meeting Of Ecological Vehicles

Prince Albert went this Thursday 4th July to the city of Alès (Gard) to participate in the International Meeting of Ecological Vehicles (RIVE) on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of this pioneering event in France. In the presence of Mr. François de Rugy, Minister of Ecological and Solidarity Transition, the Sovereign Prince reminded everyone during his speech that the Principality was at the forefront in terms of transport and carbon-free mobility thanks in particular to incentives. Envisaged in Monaco also is a fleet of all-electric buses and the establishment of a self-service electric vehicle service as well as a growing fleet of electric bikes.

H.S.H. the Prince Albert II visits the Monaco-based organization Peace and Sport

H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco visited Peace and Sport, the organization under His High Patronage which promotes peace using the power of sport, on Monday the 1st of July. This was the opportunity to present the Peace and Sport team, the activities conducted this year and the 2020 perspectives. Mr. Joël Bouzou, President and Founder of the organization, welcomed the Sovereign Prince for an introduction with the team and presented of the ongoing activities. They then joined the Board members Mr. Georges Vanderchmitt, Mr. Henri Fissore and Mr. Frank Morel to discuss about the results of April6 campaign anchored around the International Day of Sports for Development and Peace, the orientations of the organization and to present the Peace and Sport International Forum which will be held from December 11 to 13 in the Principality.  (Source: Peace and Sport)
