First Summer Concert at the Prince’s Palace attended by Prince Albert II

Prince Albert II attended the first summer concert by the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, held in the Court of Honour at the Prince’s Palace on 11 July.

Under the direction of conductor James Gaffigan, the symphony concert paid tribute to César Franck and Franz Liszt. During the first part of the concert, the audience was treated to “Piano Concerto No. 2 in A major”, masterfully interpreted by pianist Alexandre Kantorow and the orchestra. In the second part,“An American in Paris” by George Gershwin was enchantingly performed by the musicians.

Every summer from mid-July to early August for over sixty years, HSH the Sovereign Prince invites the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, along with the greatest international conductors and soloists, to perform at the palace.

Prince Albert II attends the Diamond League Competition in Monaco

Top athletes from all over the world stopped in Monaco on 12 July at the Louis-II stadium, in the presence of Prince Albert II, for the Wanda Diamond League competition. One last stop for many athletes before they head to the Paris Olympics.

The Prince presented Grant Holloway, who won the 110 metre hurdles, with his gold medal. Australia’s Jessica Hull broke the world record in the women’s 2,000 m with a time of 5:19.70.  Jakob Ingebrigtsen, from Norway, beat the European record in the 1,500 metre with a time of 3 min 26.73 sec.

Prince Albert II sits in the Royal Box at Wimbledon with the Duchess of Gloucester

Prince Albert II and his cousin, Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy, were seated in the Royal Box to watch Wimbledon, not far from the Duchess of Gloucester, on 8 July. The British royal family was represented by Marie-Christine, the wife of Prince Michael of Kent, and the Duchess of Gloucester, wife of Queen Elizabeth’s cousin, Prince Richard. Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy is the president of the Monte-Carlo Country Club.

Prince Albert II, Camille Gottlieb and Charles Leclerc attend Jimmy’z 50th Anniversary Party

Jimmy’z Monte-Carlo celebrated its 50th birthday this year with guests like Prince Albert II, Stephane Valeri, Camille Gottlieb, Charles Leclerc, and many other personalities. The Monegasque F1 champion signed a plaque under a neon sign that spelled out: “I hope Jimmy’z is ready”. The phrase was exclaimed by Charles Leclerc to his team right after he crossed the finish line in May. Influencers GMK and Seb Delanney were also present at the event, which was hosted by Belgian DJ Lost Frequencies.
