Christmas for Children at the Princely Palace
On Wednesday 19 December, Prince Albert II and his nephew, Louis Ducruet, welcomed Monegasque children for a traditional Christmas celebration at the Princely Palace. More than 600 guests, aged 5 to 12, attended a show by magician Triton, champion of France 2018 and member of the French team ‘close-up’ in the Throne Room. The young Monegasques also saw the traditional Christmas tree at the Palace. During the festive atmosphere, HSH Prince Albert II and Louis Ducruet distributed gifts to all the young guests.
Princess Stephanie gives out Gifts at CHPG and Rainier III Centre
On Monday 17 December, HSH Princess Stephanie went to the Monegasque Section of the Red Cross Hospital Assistance Centre to participate in the presentation of Christmas gifts at the Psychiatry and Medical Psychology Departments of the Princess Grace Hospital Centre. (CHPG).
The Princess continued her visit to the Rainier III Centre, where she was able to attend a volunteer concert by pianist René Bec, after she distributed Christmas presents to the patients. Members of the Executive Committee of the Monegasque Red Cross, Benoîte De Sevelinges, Director of the CHPG, Didier Gamerdinger, Counsellor-Minister of Social Affairs and Health, and Dr. Philippe Brunner, Head of the Hospital Assistance Centre, were present to accompany the Princess during her holiday visit.
Prince Albert’s Biography: the destiny of a reign
Author Frederick Laurent and Valérie Castera, the head of Gilletta Editions, presented Prince Albert II with a book that outlines the details of the Sovereign’s life. The Prince’s biography, titled ‘Albert II: the destiny of a reign’ is a beautiful bilingual 165-page book (French-English). The book traces the life of the Monegasque ruler from his childhood onwards, while explaining Monegasque sovereignty. Frédéric Laurent was also inspired by the Prince’s political commitment to the planet, the environment and biodiversity.
