Prince Albert II attends BioMarine Convention in Québec
Prince Albert II of Monaco met with Quebec’s Prime Minister Philippe Couillard at the 8th BioMarine International Business Convention, which brought together 260 business leaders, investors and environmentalists interested in the ‘blue economy’. The event took place at the Hôtel Rimouski and brought representatives from 28 countries together for meetings, interviews, conferences and panels to discuss ways of using the oceans for sustainable economic development.
Prince Albert II met with dignitaries representing dozens of countries and was a guest of honour, participating in the opening ceremony. Since 2008, this international event has taken place in several places around the world, including Nantes, Portugal, the United States and Norway.
Formal Reopening of the Courts and Tribunals
On Monday 2 October, the Prince attended the solemn reopening of the Courts and Tribunals 2017 at the Palais de Justice of Monaco. This hearing took place in the presence of representatives from Monegasque Institutions, the magistrates, lawyers, and judicial administration staff. It was preceded by a Mass of the Holy Spirit held in Monaco’s Cathedral.
Prince Albert presents Luxury Packaging Award
At the 2017 Luxury Packaging Fair, Prince Albert II presented an award to Sulapac, a Finnish company that makes biodegradable plastic. Their product has the same characteristics as plastic, is airtight, waterproof and can be manufactured by the same facilities that manufacture plastic, but it is made exclusively out of wood. The Lux Pack in Green Trophy has been in existence since 2010 and rewards virtuous environmental approaches because being a pioneer in environmental issues is “fundamental for the packaging industry.”
Prince Albert II collaborates with Prince Charles at ‘Our Ocean Conference 2017’
Prince Albert II participated in the Our Ocean Conference 2017 in Malta, which was organized by the European Union and initiated by John Kerry. The conference aims to inspire and empower a new generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists and civil societies to identify solutions and engage in actions for a sustainable ocean.
During the conference, the Monegasque Sovereign and Prince Charles combined their efforts to create a communal declaration for the preservation of coral reefs and the millions of species which depend on them. The declaration was then signed by dozens of countries and states. The Prince Albert II Foundation of Monaco and The Prince of Wales International Sustainability Unit also created an agreement between their foundations, the Tara Expeditions Foundation, and the Monaco Scientific Center, as part of Monaco Explorations. Prince Albert II then officially announced the launch of a second call for projects for Beyond Plastic Med, which aims to combat plastic pollution on the shores of the Mediterranean.
Princess Stephanie attended the inauguration of Rainier monument
On October 4, 2017, Princess Stephanie of Monaco, Prince Radu of Romania and Bucharest Mayor Gabriela Firea attended the inauguration of a monument dedicated to her father, Prince Rainier of Monaco, at the Circus Park in Bucharest. Prince Rainier created the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival, an event the Bucharest Globus Circus attended several times. The next day, Princess Stéphanie will meet with members of the Romanian royal family. Princess Margareta and Prince Radu will welcome her at the Elisabeta Palace (Palatul Elisabeta) in Bucharest.

Romania Ambassador Robert Fillon of Monaco, Romania Honorary Consul Constantin Turchina of Monaco, Bucharest Honorary Consul Sergio Aurelio Faleschini of Monaco and representatives of Bucharest Municipality attended that visit. Princess Stephanie is currently in Bucharest because of opening of a monument dedicated to her father Prince Rainier III of Monaco.

Albanian-born photographer Fadil Berisha has been living and working in New York for the last 22 years. He is the official photographer of Rolex and Miss USA Organization.
