Pierre Casiraghi goes boating with Monaco’s Youth

Pierre Casiraghi, vice-president of the Yacht Club of Monaco, alongside Bernard d’Alessandri, secretary general, met with about forty young people from the sailing school to present Malizia 2 which will be used with his German teammate Boris Herrmann during the Vendée Globe 2020 (aka “Everest of the seas”). A new boat he has tested on hectic seas with Boris Herrmann, his teammate since 2013. The two friends will continue to pursue adventure with a very ambitious goal: the Vendée Globe in 2020.

By 2020, both will participate in many regattas and “train to a maximum” to improve and motivate themselves, and gain experience. They are also preparing to participate in the Rolex Fastnet 2017, from 1 to 12 August. A mythical race, organized by the Royal Ocean Racing Club, with nearly 300 sailboats travelling 1000 km. The regatta criss-crosses the English coasts before crossing the Irish Sea and coasting along the Fastnet rock before arriving in Plymouth.

Before this next adventure, the public will be able to discover the Malizia 2 at the Fête de la Mer on 17 June, where a parade is planned with Twiga, a boat from the Yacht club of Monaco.
