The Monte Carlo Rally and Historic Rally: Traffic and Pedestrian Restrictions

There are many parking and traffic circulation restrictions to take note of during the 90th Monte Carlo Rally and the 24th Historic Rally of Monte Carlo

There are some restrictions applying to pedestrians too. Generally, though with several exceptions, the restrictions will apply from Friday January 14th at 6 am until Sunday February 6th at midnight. 

Details of Restrictions 

Here is a detailed heads-up on the traffic and pedestrian restrictions with respect to the upcoming Rallies: 

From Friday January 14 at 6 a.m. to Sunday February 6 at midnight, the driving and parking ban on vehicles on the Albert 1er quay is postponed with regard to the vehicles of the organization of the events and of the participants.

From Friday January 14 at 6 a.m. to Sunday February 6 at midnight, the circulation of pedestrians, other than those duly authorized, is prohibited inside the surfaces where the sporting events set out in article 1 are held as well as during the installation and removal of the elements necessary for their smooth running.

From Friday January 14 at 6 a.m. to Sunday February 6 at midnight, vehicle parking is prohibited on Quai Antoine 1er.

From Monday, January 17 at 6 a.m. to Sunday, January 23 at 8 p.m., vehicle parking is prohibited on Avenue de la Quarantaine, with the exception of the delivery area located at No. 3, and spaces reserved for I.A.A.F. in front of n° 5.

From Monday January 17 at 6 a.m. to Wednesday February 2 at midnight, vehicle parking is prohibited on Boulevard Albert 1er, between its numbers 19 to 25.

On Tuesday January 18 from 6 am to midnight, vehicle parking is prohibited on avenue Albert II, in the “20 minute stop” spaces, between its numbers 4 to 6.

From Friday January 14 at 6 a.m. to Wednesday January 26 at midnight, vehicle traffic is prohibited in Tunnel Rocher Antoine 1er.

From Friday January 14 at 6 a.m. to Wednesday January 26 at midnight, a one-way traffic direction is set up along the buildings on Quai Antoine 1er, between its numbers 4 to 14.

From Monday January 10 at 6 a.m. to Wednesday January 26 at midnight, vehicles with an authorized gross vehicle weight greater than 3.5 tons, other than those duly authorized, as well as tourist coaches using the avenue JF Kennedy, are prohibited to turn towards the Quai des Etats-Unis.

All vehicles using J.F. Kennedy Avenue are prohibited from turning towards the Quai des Etats-Unis during the following periods: 

  • Thursday, January 20 at 10 p.m. to Friday, January 21, 2022 at 3 a.m., 
  • Friday January 21 from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., 
  • Saturday, January 22 from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., 
  • Sunday, January 23 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
