In preparation for the 2025 summer season, stabilization and reinforcement work will be carried out on Larvotto Beach from January 2 to April 30, 2025.
This project will focus on the central groyne and the geotubes currently positioned between the coves in the eastern area of Larvotto, which will be removed. Their protective function will subsequently be replaced by eco-designed rock islands to help reduce beach erosion and the formation of mounds observed in recent years. Similar work will be undertaken next year to secure the western area of the beach.
As these operations will be taking place in the water, a temporary swimming ban will be enforced to ensure public safety during the construction period. Buoys and markers will clearly indicate the restricted area to beachgoers.
Protection of the marine biodiversity
To protect the site’s marine biodiversity, retention nets will be installed in the water. These nets will safeguard the adjacent marine reserve from sediments generated during the work.
The beach will remain accessible, and the restaurants and shops in the complex will remain open without restrictions.
