The Commission for the Allocation of State Housing met on 13 February 2024 and allocated 254 housing units to Monegasques (within the building “IDA Block C” and “Carmelha”, elevated from the Reséda Tower).
The new Commission for the Allocation of State Housing launched a call for applications for the homes between 11 September 2023 and 6 October 2023. The Commission is under the chairmanship of Marco Piccinni, Government Counsellor-Minister for Finance and Economy.
This Commission is the continuation of the efforts undertaken by the Government at the initiative of the Sovereign Prince for the housing of Monegasques. Two previous Commissions in 2022 and 2023 had allocated 212 and 304 housing units respectively.
Visit of state-owned building “Les Mélèzes”
Government ministers and National Council members visited “Les Mélèzes” on 25 January. The building had undergone a substantial renovation in 2021 and 2022 as well as a recent elevation. The upward expansion made room for 14 new apartments, all registered in the national plan for the housing of Monegasques.
The delegation, which included Marco Piccinni, Céline Caron-Dagioni (Equipment, Environment and Urban Planning) and Brigitte Boccone-Pages (President of the National Council) witnessed the quality of the renovations in the entrance hall, the common areas as well as the new apartments.
Renovation of the building was initially carried out with the aim of improving energy consumption, fire safety devices and to offer better comfort for its occupants. The installation of exterior thermal insulation, replacing the windows and changing the heating method from oil to gas all took place in the state-owned complex. The entire building, including the added apartments, now consumes less energy than ever before. New mailboxes, a new lift at the entrance to the building, a video intercom and lighting on the balconies have also been added to the building.
