On Thursday, December 7th, in the evening, Their Serene Highnesses, the Sovereign Prince and Princess Charlene, Her Serene Highness Princess Stephanie, Melanie-Antoinette de Massy, as well as numerous representatives from the highest institutions of the Principality, were welcomed by Mayor Georges Marsan and the members of the Communal Council for the inauguration of the 2023 Christmas Village, created in tribute to Prince Rainier III as part of the commemorations of His centenary.
Until Sunday, January 7th, 2024, through several scenographies decorated with photos of Prince Rainier III, visitors will be able to re-discover the numerous passions of the Builder Prince.
The backdrop, of course, is stunning, fountains, the Mediterranean and the broad expanse of promenade girded with Christmas trees. And all the chalets with Christmas trinkets, baubles and tasty delights.
There’s delightful food stands, sales chalets, and rides along with the big wheel! You will also enjoy concerts, stage performances, creative workshops, and programmed walkabouts throughout the Christmas holidays.
Christmas Illuminations & Illuminated Fountains
Similar to last year, this late afternoon also marked the start of the city’s illuminations! Who can forget it’s Christmas. As a reminder, almost all of the lighting decorations in the Principality have been made from 100% biodegradable structures derived from sugar cane, recycled and recyclable aluminum, guaranteed free from GMOs.
Lastly, the evening concluded with the very first spectacle of illuminated fountains at the Rainier III Nautical Stadium Pool. These unique displays are presented in collaboration with the Prince Rainier III Commemoration Committee.
A warm and magical start to the evening that signals the beginning of the year-end festivities!
