As the summer season approaches, Larvotto Beach is undergoing its annual reshaping to ensure optimal conditions for visitors. From March 31 to April 18, work will be carried out to reduce the steep slope that formed during the winter, restoring the beach’s gentle incline and ensuring safe access to bathing areas.

Beach Reshaping and Environmental Protection

The reshaping process, conducted entirely on land, involves leveling the gravel mound and adjusting the beach’s morphology to maintain sufficient space for visitors. To protect the site’s marine biodiversity, a 120-meter retention net will be installed on the water’s surface near the coves, preventing sediment from spreading into the adjacent underwater reserve.

Temporary Swimming Restrictions

For public safety, swimming will be prohibited throughout the duration of the work. Additionally, even after completion, the swimming ban will remain in place until April 30 in areas affected by ongoing reinforcement work on the central spur and the eastern cove.

Despite these restrictions, sections of the beach will remain accessible, with access determined by the progress of the work. The scheduled working hours are:
• Morning: 7:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
• Afternoon: 2:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Restaurants and Shops Open as Usual

Visitors can still enjoy the restaurants and shops at the Larvotto complex, which will remain open without restrictions during the reshaping period.

Ongoing Maintenance Without Disruptions

To preserve the beach’s width and gentle slope throughout the summer, regular maintenance will be conducted. However, these efforts will not result in further closures or interruptions for beachgoers.

With these improvements, Larvotto Beach is preparing to offer visitors a safe, enjoyable, and well-maintained shoreline for the summer season.
