Monaco’s Hoops and Dreams: Triumphs, Transfers, and a Taste of Future Glory

The 2023-2024 season was a thrilling ride for AS Monaco Basketball, capped by a resounding victory that cemented their status as French champions for the second consecutive year. The highlight was undoubtedly the June showdown against Paris Basketball. Thanks to an MVP performance from Mike James and the explosive energy of Elie Okobo, the Roca Team dominated, leaving Paris in the dust with a 39-point victory in Game Four.

More Monegasques than French People living in Monaco for the First Time…

he Monegasque Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (IMSEE) recently published a detailed demographic study on the Monegasque population. As of December 31, 2023, the Principality has 9,790 Monegasques, an increase of 1.1%.

The study revealed that for the first time, that there are more Monegasque residents than French people. At the end of 2023, there were 38,367 residents in the Principality, an increase of 2.8% compared to 2016. The number of Monegasque residents reached 9,179 (out of 9,790) whereas that number of French residents was 8,473.

The 93rd edition of the Monte Carlo Rally promises to be a formidable test for competitors, kicking off the 2025 World Rally Championship with an arduous route unveiled by the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM). Spanning January 23-26, 2025, this year’s rally returns to the rugged terrain around Gap, after a shift to Monaco in 2022 and 2023.
