Princely Digest: the week full of local events

If you ever wonder how it is to be a Prince, our weekly digest will give you some insights into the life of Prince Albert II and other members of the princely family.
This week was full of local events for Albert II.

On Monday Nepali Ambassador to France Ambika Devi Luintel, who is also a non-resident Ambassador of Nepal to Monaco, presented her Letter of Credence to Monaco’s Prince Albert II at Palace on Monday. On this occasion, Ambassador Luintel extended greetings on behalf of President Bidya Devi Bhandari and the people of Nepal to the Prince for his good health, happiness along with the peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Monaco. In a separate bilateral meeting with the Prince, Ambassador Luintel expressed sincere thanks to the Prince and people of Monaco for their support to the victims of disastrous earthquake that struck Nepal in April last year. She also appreciated the support received from Monaco for the socio-economic development of Nepal.

The next day, on the 11th October , Prince Albert II attended the Golden Foot Awards. The Golden Foot 2016 awards was held at the Yacht Club de Monaco, and awarded to the Spaniard Carles Puyol, Deco the Portuguese and the Dutch Frank de Boer for their careers. Tradition requires the imprints of their feet will be on the Champions Promenade between Porter and the Larvotto. The Golden Foot Award 2016 has meanwhile been awarded by HSH the Sovereign Prince to Italian international goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon who succeeds from Samuel Eto’o.
The Golden Foot is an international football award to be presented to the active players who are 28 years old or above. The World Champions Club organizes this event under the High Patronage of the H.S.H Prince Albert II of Monaco.

The same day in the evening Prince was at the Film Premier at the Oceanographic museum. The elders of the Cousteau team who were attending, were moved in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II at the premiere of “Odyssey” at Monaco’s Oceanographic Museum, an emotionally charged Tuesday night at the premiere of the film “Odyssey” by Jérôme Salle. A poignant projection as the memory of the commander was alive among them but also for the staff of the Museum which he was director of for over 30 years.

On Thursday, 13 October HSH Prince Albert II attended at the Princess Grace Hospital (CHPG) to the commissioning of the new linear radiation particles accelerator, the Novalis Truebeam. This device enables, for cancer patients, to receive “customized” treatments with a precision under one millimeter. The Radiotherapy Service CHPG was completely renovated during the summer and has also acquired a new generation scanner that can see cancerous tumors in motion.

Last Friday , 14th October , Opening Monte Carlo One Drop Extravaganza Guy Laliberté, founder of Cirque du Soleil and the One Drop Foundation, gave the kickoff to the amateur poker tournament Monte Carlo One Drop Extravaganza in the company of HSH Prince Albert II. A portion of the entry fees paid by players is donated to the One Drop organization. The tournament takes place from 13 to 17 October.

And finally yesterday, S.A.S Prince Albert II accompanied by the Minister of State His Excellency Serge Telle attended in Nice on Saturday, October 15th with French President François Hollande, the National homage to the victims of the terrorist attack this summer.
