Prince Albert II, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella attended the Rugby Sevens Olympic qualifying tournament, which took place last weekend at the Stade Louis II. On Sunday 20 June, Ireland won the men’s Olympic qualifier while France and Russia won the women’s qualifying final. Those teams now have their tickets to participate in the Tokyo Olympic Games. The qualifying tournament was organized by the Monegasque Rugby Federation with the support of the International World Rugby Federation and the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.
Prince Albert and His Twins Celebrate St. Jean Baptiste Day
Prince Albert II and His children, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, attended Saint Jean festivities at the Princely Palace on the evening of 23 June. After a religious ceremony in the Palatine Chapel, a “batafoegu” bonfire was lit in the Palace Square. The very old custom celebrates the birth of Saint Jean Baptiste with fire and light.
Princess Charlene recovering in South Africa after Surgery
Princess Charlene is recovering in South Africa after several surgeries following a serious ENT (ear, nose and throat) infection, according to medias. In May, Princess Charlene traveled to South Africa to participate in wildlife rescue missions, fight poaching and raise awareness about rhino mutilation. She had posted photos on social media of herself alongside wildlife professionals. A few weeks after arriving in her home country, the princess developed a serious infection which prevented her from traveling back to the Principality for the Monaco Grand Prix. At the beginning of June, Prince Albert and their children, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, were able to visit Princess Charlene in South Africa for a few days.
Palace celebrates Albert and Charlene’s 10th Wedding Anniversary with a Miniseries
The Palace of Monaco has announced a mini-series of ten episodes to celebrate the 10th wedding anniversary of Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, which will be released on Facebook starting in July. The episodes will retrace the ceremonies and celebrations of the summer of 2011, the personal journey of the couple, how they met, the birth of their twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella and more. The public can view the miniseries on the Prince’s Palace social networks from 1 July at 6 p.m. Princess Charlene shared the trailer on Instagram from South Africa with the words, “Happy anniversary Albert. Thank you for the blessing of our beautiful children.”
Beatrice Borromeo dazzles at Dior Show in Athens
Monegasque royal Beatrice Borromeo and her husband, Pierre Casiraghi, attended Dior’s Cruise 2022 Collection show in Athens, one of the biggest fashion events of the year. Brand ambassador since the beginning of 2021, Beatrice Borromeo embodied a Greek goddess in a stunning gold-fringed gown, with her husband looking dapper in a dark suit and sunglasses. Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri chose Athens due to its status as the heart of a powerful and artistic ancient civilization. Other royal friends of the fashion house include Casiraghi’s mother, Princess Caroline and Princess Alexandra of Hanover.
