Prince Albert II, Camille Gottlieb and Charles Leclerc attend Jimmy’z 50th Anniversary Party

A legendary club in Monaco and the Côte d’Azur, Jimmy’z Monte-Carlo, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The milestone was memorialized with a big party on Thursday 11 July, in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II, Camille Gottlieb, Charles Leclerc and several other personalities. Belgian DJ Lost Frequencies hosted the party from behind the decks.

A glamorous birthday party

During the party, F1 champion Charles Leclerc signed a plaque under a neon sign that spelled out: “I hope Jimmy’z is ready”. The phrase was exclaimed by Charles Leclerc to his team right after he crossed the finish line in May, becoming the first Monegasque to win the Monaco Grand Prix. SBM Director Stephane Valeri and influencers GMK and Seb Delanney were also present at the event.

Half a century of history

In the 1970s, the famous Régine performed at the first Summer Sporting and instantly fell in love with Monaco. Known as “Queen of the Night” she dreamed of opening her own nightclub in the Principality. Her dream came true after a meeting with the Monte Carlo Société des Bains de Mer.

Inaugurated on 9 July 1971 in its initial configuration at the water’s edge (where the current Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort stands) the first Jimmy’z enjoyed immediate success. In 1974, the establishment joined the new Sporting Monte-Carlo complex, which had opened on the brand new Larvotto Peninsula. Starting in the 1980s, the world’s greatest DJs began performing at Jimmy’z, including Bob Sinclar, David Morales and Martin Solveig.
