HSH Prince Albert II appointed Christophe Steiner as the new Chief of Staff for the Prince’s Cabinet on 31 July. Steiner will officially take up his new duties on Monday 4 September 2023.
“I am delighted with the appointment of Christophe Steiner as the Director of my Cabinet, a man of great experience who has held the highest political responsibilities in his career. His in-depth knowledge of public affairs and economic and financial issues will be a major asset in responding to the current challenges of our country,” said Prince Albert II in a press release on 31 July 2023.
After being elected as President of the National Council in 2016, Christophe Steiner was appointed Ambassador of Monaco to France and the Principality of Andorra in 2019. Steiner also worked within the Control Commission of Financial Activities (CCAF) as well as the Information and Control Service on Financial Circuits (SICCFIN).
The announcement comes on the heels of Laurent Anselmi stepping down from the position, which was announced by the Palace at the beginning of June.
Laurent Anselmi is now leading the new Académie de la Mer project (Monegasque Sea Academy) which provides training in scuba diving and water rescue for people aged 8 and up.
