Peace and Sport, the politically-neutral organisation aimed at promoting sport as a tool for peace, has released a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of its 10th anniversary. The stamp features the iconic logo of Peace and Sport which represents the contribution sport can make towards peace-building efforts worldwide.
Over the past 10 years, Peace and Sport, an organization placed under the High Patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco, has been pioneer in the promotion of sport as a tool for the achievement of a number of social goals, including peacebuilding activities, poverty reduction, education progress, public health improvement and reconciliation.
Peace and Sport President, Joel Bouzou, said:
“Peace and Sport takes pride in issuing the commemorative stamp, as we put on record 10 years of promoting from the Principality of Monaco the values of sport as a tool for social change worldwide”
The Office des Timber of the Principality of Monaco will print 50,000 copies of the commemorative stamp, to be sold at 0,85 €. Peace and Sport commemorative stamp is now available at the Office des Timbres, the Musée des Timbres et des Monnaies, the post office and philatelic counters of the Principality of Monaco, the Monaco stamp-dealers as well as the Musée de la Poste and the Carré d’Encre in Paris, France.
Additionally, twenty official first day cover will be for sale during the 10th edition of the Peace and Sport International Forum, which will take place from 6th – 8th December 2017 in the Principality of Monaco. The funds collected will be used to provide support to Peace and Sport projects on the field and sport-based initiatives worldwide.
