Motorway Tolls Increased on the 1st of February

Motorway tolls increased by an average of 0.80% on the 1st of February, as a consequence of the motorway investment plan signed on the 26th of January and to make up for tariff freezes imposed in 2015.

Toll gates will cost drivers 0.80% more on average.

The annual increases planned in contracts between the State and motorway companies have been added to the 800 million euro investment plan which was signed last Thursday, as well as a catch-up plan for tariff freezes (which were imposed in 2015).

The objective of this investment plan is to finance major works, namely the construction of 32 new interchanges, 25 new ride-share areas and developments for the natural environment.

Work is expected to begin by the end of 2017. Eleven projects are planned in the Paca region.

In addition to the 1st of February increase, the plan is expected to raise prices by 0.1 to 0.4% on average between 2019 and 2021.

The government ensures that these projects will create 5,000 new jobs in France.
