The Monte-Carlo Television Festival recently announced the launch of a new category as part of its prestigious competition. The Digital Award will celebrate content created exclusively for distribution on YouTube, putting a spotlight on original concepts and innovative content.
“We are excited to discover the talents and creations that will emerge in this new category, and we encourage all creators to participate in this celebration of digital innovation,” said Cécile Menoni, Executive Director of the Festival.
Two Golden Nymphs will be awarded in this digital category: Best Original Digital Creation and Best Unscripted Digital Creation. Fiction formats, children’s programs, and studio-based ‘talking head’ formats will be excluded from this competition.
“The Digital Award stands out for its unique approach, rewarding creations that feature no actors and do not rely on pre-written scripts or dialogue, showcasing spontaneous reactions – a key element of any unscripted format…By launching the Digital Award, the festival reaffirms its role as a pioneer and its commitment to innovation,” stated the Monte-Carlo Television Festival in a recent press release.
The Digital Award will recognize emerging talents and invite creatives to explore new narrative horizons. By integrating this category, the Monte-Carlo Television Festival demonstrates its attentiveness to technological advancements and audience expectations, helping to pave the way for a new era of creativity.
The Digital Award will be open for competition for the 2026 edition. More details regarding this award will be unveiled during the 64th edition of the Festival, taking place from 13 to 17 June at the Grimaldi Forum.
