The Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer recently announced that it has invested in renovations and new housing for its seasonal employees.
“The well-being of employees is one of the pillars of the professional attractiveness policy of the largest private employer in the city…. Offering all modern comfort, and very preferential conditions, this housing is a real factor of attractiveness in a competitive recruitment context,” states a press release from the SBM.
33 freshly renovated properties reserved for employees
As the summer season begins, the construction department of the SBM has just finalized the renovation of 33 apartments reserved primarily for its seasonal employees. They are located in two of the Group’s properties: New Beach (Roquebrune-Cap-Martin) and the Résidences du Tenao (Beausoleil). In addition, equipment work (air conditioning, fitting out new kitchens) was carried out in a rental building in Cap d’Ail.
The renovation campaign follows one which began last year and will continue next year, as part of a broader program aimed at improving housing for employees, initiated by Stéphane Valeri, Deputy Chairman of the SBM.
“As a luxury hotel group, the SBM must offer comfortable accommodation to its employees, within the limits of available beds,” said Sophie Vincent, Director of Human Resources at the SBM.
“The renovation consisted of bringing the services and finishes up to the level which we wish to offer in terms of reception conditions to our seasonal workers,” said Luc Leroy, Director of Construction and Build Heritage at the SBM.
The list of renovations was extensive and included: window replacement, repainting, renovation of flooring, complete renovation of bathrooms, electrical installations and LED lighting, furniture replacement, renovation of the shared kitchen space.
A total of 333 beds
Spread across three sites (Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Cap d’Ail and Beausoleil) SBM housing includes 210 beds in fully furnished apartments (from studios to 4 bedrooms, accommodating up to 6 people). Last year, 113 beds were added to this in Menton in two hotel residences.
“Housing is an important aspect of the Group’s HR strategy, aimed at attracting the best employee profiles and ensuring the well-being of employees. It represents an important component of the SBM social model,” said Sophie Vincent.
Aside from seasonal employees, the housing can also accommodate executives who join the Group and interns. More employee housing is expected to be created next year.
