46th Rainier III Challenge: Monaco’s own Premier Football Tournament
The 46th Rainier III Challenge, Monaco’s inter-company football tournament, culminated with the final match on 20 May at the Louis-II stadium. The Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer team faced M.I. Monaco SAM, who won the event last season against Vinci Construction Monaco.
The tournament brought together 8 teams of 11 players for a friendly sports battle. Before qualifying for the final match, the SBM and the Princess Grace Hospital Centre teams were tied for first place in the group stage of the tournament.

Defending champions AS Monaco Basketball reached the French Championship final for the third consecutive time thanks to their victory in Bourg-en-Bresse (76-71) on Thursday, winning their semi-final series 3-1.
JL Bourg, EuroCup finalists, led with 127 seconds remaining but succumbed to the relentless efforts of Monaco’s forward Jaron Blossomgame (16 points, 5 rebounds). Having already scored 21 points on Tuesday in Ain, the American put his team ahead with a precise three-pointer.
Following a defensive rebound, Blossomgame grabbed another crucial rebound in the opponent’s paint when his teammate Alpha Diallo missed a second free throw (72-69), securing the game.

After the success of the 2023 edition, Flavio Briatore, Founder of Billionaire, and Stephane Valeri, Deputy Chairman of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, unveiled this year’s edition on 17 May 2024 after signing the renewal of their partnership.
