The first baby born in the new year is celebrated as a joyous occasion that represents the beginning of new life (and a new chapter for their family). According to Monaco’s City Hall, 45 babies have been born on January 1st since 2000, including two on January 1, 2025! The very first baby to be born in Monaco in 2025 is little Serena.
Meaning “serene” or “calm”, the name Serena may have auspicious significance for the year 2025! Will this be a calm and serene year? Let’s hope so!
Born at 9:21 p.m. at the Princess Grace Hospital Centre, the newborn’s lucky parents are Emma Bellanti-Gamerdinger, who is Monegasque, and Anastasio Bellanti, who is Italian. Both parents are residents of Monaco.
