From 3 to 7 April 2017, Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority (DTC) and its representative office undertook various promotional activities in Russia. This was a two-phase tour, involving travel to Moscow and then to St. Petersburg.
Thus, on 3 and 4 April, the Monegasque delegation of the DTC was led by its Director, Guillaume Rose, accompanied by Ms. Corinne Kiabski for the press Ms. Charlotte Valli for sales and marketing.
For the occasion, the representative office in Russia had successfully invited representatives from more than 60 media to a major press conference to present the destination’s innovations for the summer season.
Some of the key events mentioned were the E Grand Prix, the Rolex Masters Series, Top Marques, the “Faîtes de la Danse” dance festival, Dinner in the Sky and the Sporting Summer Festival.
The latest developments in real estate projects in the Principality, such as the construction site for the offshore urban extension project and the progress of the Hotel de Paris and the Place du Casino were also discussed at these presentations.
This was an opportunity for the Russian media and news agencies to find out – with some admiration – about the Principality’s dynamism in the fields of tourism, economy and culture.
A few hours after the terrorist attack in St. Petersburg, the Monegasque delegation held a minute’s silence before each speaker during its promotional tour, to pay tribute to the victims and show its support for the Russian people.
It was in this spirit of solidarity between the two countries that the activities planned for St. Petersburg on 5 and 6 April were maintained, as in Moscow. The tourism professionals thus appreciated the involvement of the Monegasque delegation, especially at press conferences and professional meetings.
