On the evening of March 18, 2025, residents of Monaco and the Alpes-Maritimes region experienced a series of unexpected seismic events that served as a stark reminder of the area’s geological activity.
At approximately 6:45 p.m., a 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck near Nice, with its epicenter located between the communes of Coaraze and Contes. This initial tremor was followed by a 3.8-magnitude aftershock at 10:25 p.m., both occurring at a shallow depth of around 17 kilometers.

The Monte-Carlo Television Festival recently announced the launch of a new category as part of its prestigious competition. The Digital Award will celebrate content created exclusively for distribution on YouTube, putting a spotlight on original concepts and innovative content.
“We are excited to discover the talents and creations that will emerge in this new category, and we encourage all creators to participate in this celebration of digital innovation,” said Cécile Menoni, Executive Director of the Festival.
Two Golden Nymphs will be awarded in this digital category: Best Original Digital Creation and Best Unscripted Digital Creation. Fiction formats, children’s programs, and studio-based ‘talking head’ formats will be excluded from this competition.
