Today Monaco is celebrating its National Day with an official program of festivities prepared for its residents and guests. However the first to celebrate this Monegasque national holiday was Dubai where at the World Expo the celebrations took place as early as last Saturday in the presence of the Princely family.
On Saturday, November 13th, the Principality of Monaco has been in the spotlight on the occasion of its National Day at the World Expo “EXPO DUBAI 2020”. Throughout the 182 days of Expo Dubai, each participating country has a dedicated day.
The Sovereign, His Serene Highness, Prince Albert II, and Her Serene Highness, Princess Stephanie, were accompanied by an official delegation, and visited the Monaco Pavilion in the presence of His Excellency Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimy, 2020 Expo Director and Minister of International Cooperation to the United Arab Emirates. Louis Ducruet, Marie Ducruet and Camille Gottlieb then also attended the official ceremony for Monaco Day.
Solemn ceremonies were held from the morning onwards in the Al Wasl amphitheatre with the flag raising, official anthems, speeches and the concert performed by the Princely Carabinieri Orchestra.
H.S.H Prince Albert II and the official delegation first visited the Monaco Pavilion followed by the UAE and the Leadership Pavillon.
The National Day of Monaco was celebrated with some other highlights: the Monte-Carlo Festival Circus Show, the Princely Carabinieri Orchestra Concert and performance of Core Meu by the Monte-Carlo Ballets staged by Jean-Christophe Maillot.
