This Friday, a joint press conference was held by the Prince’s Government/SMEG on the imminent launch of the Data+ survey.
This project was presented to the press by Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development and Thomas Battaglione, Managing Director of the SMEG, within the framework of the Government’s Energy Transition Policy. It will optimise knowledge of energy consumption in the Principality and identify the priority action to be taken.
This large-scale, anonymous survey of energy consumption will be launched on 8 May 2017. 20% of the population of Monaco (approximately 5,000 residents, a sufficient number for the panel to be heterogeneous) will be sent a Data + questionnaire by post. An online version of the questionnaire will instantly provide clients with a breakdown of their energy use.
This first phase of the project will end on 14 July. However, the process will continue for several years – the entire Monegasque community will gradually be approached.
Concluding a discussion with the media representatives present, Ministers Marie-Pierre Gramaglia and Thomas Battaglione recalled that only a complete chain – the optimisation of day-to-day consumption habits, a strong public policy and action by the relevant professionals – will achieve the ambitious objective of a carbon-neutral Monaco as set by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince.
