Karting, Ninja Courses, Drone Shows and DJ Nights: The Wild Summer at Port Hercule

Every year, Monaco’s Port Hercule becomes the ultimate summer destination, transforming the Quai Albert-I into an open-air amusement park packed with fun and excitement for everyone. This year, opened already from August 1st and continuing to August 25th, the port is as spectacular as ever, combining beloved classics with fresh, new attractions.

A Summer Playground

Each day from 4 PM to 10:30 PM, the port bursts into life with a variety of activities. Thrill-seekers can race on two karting tracks—one designed for adults and another for kids aged three and up. For those looking for more playful fun, there are trampolines, basketball courts, and a duck fishing game to delight the little ones. Adding a touch of nostalgia, a classic carousel has been installed on Princess Caroline Avenue, bringing joy to all who ride.

New Excitements and Timeless Fun

A standout addition this year is the Ninja Course, inspired by its runaway success at the winter sports village.

HelloMonaco was there at the opening Press Conference to hear all about it: “This activity was a huge hit last winter,” says Olivia Novaretti-Paulmier, head of the Animation Department at the City Hall. “Kids love the challenge, and parents enjoy seeing them so engaged.”

However, not all past features have returned. The multicoloured canopy, a previous year’s highlight, has been excluded due to wind-related issues. Visitors are encouraged to come prepared for the summer heat, though pergolas do offer some respite from the sun.

Special Events and Gourmet Treats

August 3 Inflatable Castles and DJ

August is packed with special events. On August 3rd, children can bounce to their hearts’ content on inflatable castles starting at 6:30 PM, followed by a DJ night at 9:30 PM.

August 9 Drone show

On August 9th, a dazzling 800-drone show themed around the Olympic Games will illuminate the sky at 10 PM, featuring 14 scenes that celebrate Monegasque athletes and iconic Monaco symbols.

August 17 Inflatable Castles and DJs

The festivities continue on August 17th with another evening of inflatable castles and a DJ night celebrating the 90s and 2000s. Shops will stay open until midnight on these special nights, allowing for extended evening enjoyment.

Adding to the festivities are several gourmet chalets and stands branded as Grimaldi Historic Sites, returning for a second year. These chalets offer a range of regional products, from Alsatian treats to southern Italian ceramics. Visitors can savour artisanal products such as cheese, charcuterie, hot dogs, barbagiuans, fougasses, nougats, beers, olive spreads, olive oil, and foie gras (from August 19th to 25th). Additionally, donkey milk cosmetics, ceramics, perfumes, and goodies will also be available for purchase.

The Press including HelloMonaco sat up and took notice: “This summer market builds a special bond with the Grimaldi Historic Sites. …It’s not just any market; it has a unique charm and strong partnership.” notes Thomas Fouilleron, secretary of the Federation of Grimaldi Historic Sites.

Marking AS Monaco’s Centenary

New to this year’s event is the “Village AS Monaco,” created to celebrate the football club’s centenary. This area features a mini football field open from 4 PM to 10:30 PM and the Kids Tour caravan with a giant target for precision contests. On its opening day, AS Monaco player George Ilenikhena held an autograph session, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Fans can also visit the pop-up store in the “Village AS Monaco” to purchase the new 2024-25 jerseys and other club merchandise, further enhancing the celebratory mood.

Unforgettable Summer Fun

With a perfect blend of exciting attractions, special events, delicious gourmet offerings, and celebratory activities, Port Hercule’s summer transformation has something for everyone. Whether you’re speeding around the karting tracks, taking on the Ninja Course, or simply soaking up the festive vibes, this year’s summer at Port Hercule promises unforgettable fun for all who attend.
