International School of Monaco listed among the Top Private Schools Worldwide

It’s almost back-to-school time for students across Monaco. The International School of Monaco’s brand new, state-of-the-art building is opening for the 2024-25 academic year in Testimonio II. Located at 43 avenue Princesse Grace in Monaco, the 8,000 square metre school will welcome over 820 students aged 3 to 18 from over 60 nationalities.

Walking into the enormous open-concept lobby which features a grand piano, students and visitors are greeted with everything from a cozy nook with comfortable couches, international clocks featuring  times around the world and a view of the three floors.

Beyond the lobby lies 53 classrooms, two playgrounds, three libraries, a gymnasium, an auditorium, art and music rooms, a café and an immersive room. A wellness room occupied by a psychologist, a counsellor and a nurse is set up to provide support to students in need.

The Immersive Room

One of the coolest and most exciting things about the new building is the “immersive room”.

Composed of 360° screens on the walls, the room uses virtual reality as a teaching tool. The possibilities of this room are endless. Students could virtually interact with anything from outer space, to microscopic organisms and everything in between.

A nautical theme seems to play throughout the school. Decor includes a Beatlesque yellow submarine, complete with seating and a small table inside and a boat in one of the libraries. Painted fish swim across the “giving wall” where names of children or family members can be displayed for a donation of 1,000 euros.

Named among top private schools worldwide by Carfax Education
