Hermes Bag picks up €75,000 at auction for the Benefit of the Monaco Red Cross

To commemorate 75th anniversary of the Monaco Red Cross, an exceptional Kelly bags was up for public auction. Offered by the prestigious Maison Hermès, the bag sold for an astounding €75,000.

The bag is 32 cm, in ‘Rouge Piment’ box calfskin, with a silver palladium trim. Nicknamed the “king of leathers”, the bag belongs to the family of “Hermès heritage” leathers, which the house is famous for. It has been in collections since the 1920s and takes its name from the “Box” tanning technique, of English origin. Inspired by the universal symbolism of red, the pieces is in the shade associated with the Red Cross…

“Chicane” Project will Connect Ships in Monaco’s Harbour to the Wastewater Network

The new Chicane pontoon, a project named after the famous Grand Prix corner, will soon be connecting ships in Monaco’s port to the Principality’s wastewater network. The project, organized by the Société d’exploitation des ports de Monaco, should be ready within two years.

Currently, there are 760 spots for boats with access to services like fresh water, electricity at the quay and on pontoons (220V / 380 V), paid WIFI, grey water collectors on certain platforms, 12 showers and 20 bathrooms.

On July 9, AS Monaco’s General Manager, Thiago Scuro, presented a check for 20,245 euros to Cyril Gomez, Deputy General Manager of the Oceanographic Institute. This generous donation is a testament to the fruitful collaboration between AS Monaco, the Oceanographic Institute, and Kappa®, all driven by the shared goal of promoting ocean conservation and biodiversity awareness.

This partnership, initiated on April 17, 2023, introduced the OCEANO jersey, a special edition inspired by the Mediterranean coast. Each jersey sold contributed five euros to the cause, culminating in a total of 20,245 euros. These funds will bolster the Oceanographic Institute’s efforts to educate the public and protect marine life.
