The Play “Moby Dick” will be on stage of the Théâtre des Muses on Friday 13, Saturday 14 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 15 December 2024, at 4:30 p.m.
If “Moby Dick” is a total masterpiece, it is because it is not only a fabulous adventure novel but also the logbook of an obsession. Since a ferocious sperm whale took Captain Ahab’s leg, the latter has relentlessly pursued him with his hatred and fury. He brings sailors aboard, gradually caught up in the whirlwind of this mad vengeance. This captivating tale, revealing an initiatory quest, is as profound as it is wise. It poses the great questions of human existence and inscribes a new myth in human memory: that of the white whale.
And for kids there is a play The Adventures of Zeli and Loli on stage of the Théâtre des Muses on Saturday 14 December at 11:00 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., Sunday 15 at 11:00 a.m.

Félicien and Zeli the locomotive set off in search of Santa to ensure the gift arrives in time for Christmas. This charming musical song and dance tale for younger children stars an animated locomotive who talks and belches smoke, a slightly grump mechanic, and a doll, not forgetting of course Santa himself, taking the spellbound audience on a magical adventure with a sprinkling of valuable lessons about looking after nature, being careful, and even how a steam engine works!

There are several interesting exhibitions going on in Monaco these days. For example, discover the new monographic exhibition by Portuguese artist Francisco Tropa, specially conceived for the Villa Paloma and featuring a previously unseen selection of sculptures, drawings, films and light projections.
The exhibition takes its names from pietre paesine (imaged stones), whose geological designs are evocative of painted landscapes, on the boundary of figuration and abstraction. This idea of an analogy between nature and technique is at the heart of Francisco Tropa’s work, which focuses on the conditions of appearance and perception of an image.
One more exhibition opened this Friday: “Nouvelles Perspectives” (“New Perspectives”) held from Friday 6 to Friday 20 December 2024, 2 pm to 6 pm, Comité National Monégasque A.I.A.P – UNESCO.
The theme of this year’s salon, ‘Nouvelles Perspectives’, commemorates 75 years of UNESCO in the Principality with a special international project, METAVERSE, created as a way of inviting several different countries together. The 2024 Salon will showcase a selection of works by the members of our association in the beautiful exhibition space on Quai Antoine 1er, with an exclusive area reserved for creations by foreign guest artists featuring a real-time screening of an online virtual exhibition.
Of course there are other interesting events taking place in Monaco. If you want to learn more about them visit our Calendar.
