Monaco’s prestigious Top Marques car show kicked off its 19th edition with an array of exciting new features and historical moments. This year, the event showcased 11 supercar debuts and one of the first regional presentations of the Tesla Cybertruck, drawing automotive enthusiasts and industry leaders from around the globe.
Grand Unveiling and a Historic Drive by Prince Albert
The event was set in motion with a grand preview at the iconic Place du Casino, where Prince Albert II made history by becoming the first person in Europe to drive the Tesla Cybertruck. Accompanied by key figures such as Mathieu Lenglin, Director of Tesla France, and Emeric Garcia, Director of Top Marques, the Prince navigated the streets of the Principality in the futuristic pickup, a vehicle not yet approved for European roads. This historic test drive underscored the event’s significance in the automotive world.
Diverse Offerings and Exclusive Debuts
Top Marques Monaco featured a rich program, including halls dedicated to classic cars and supercars, a section for superboats, an exhibition space for watches and jewelry, an automotive art gallery, and a Ferrari auction in collaboration with MonacoCarAuctions. This year’s show was marked by the debut of nine supercars, including the Aston Martin New Vantage V8, Audi RS6 GT Avant, McLaren Artura Spider, and Porsche Macan Electric.
The event also highlights innovations in green technologies and future transportation solutions. Brands like Chinese BYD, Venturi, and Audi are presenting cutting-edge developments, with Audi showcasing its 100% electric Audi S1 Hoonitron, designed for American drifter Ken Block.
Classic Cars and High-End Exhibitions
In addition to modern marvels, the show pays homage to automotive history with over 60 classic 20th-century sports cars. Highlights include a rare 1937 Mercedes “Silver Arrow” from the National Automobile Museum of Mulhouse and a 1990 Land Rover Defender 110 V8 Nomad from Boutsen Classic Cars.
The event’s comprehensive schedule included the second edition of the 100% Ferrari auction “L’Astarossa” and an art contest for children to design the event’s first official mascot. The Top Marques Monaco show ran from June 6 to 9, fulfilling its promise of a blend of luxury, innovation, and history.
Celebrity Appearances and Artistic Highlights
Prince Albert II, accompanied by Emeric Garcia and Christine Salti, explored the latest automotive innovations and met with exhibitors, including former Formula 1 driver Thierry Boutsen. The Sovereign was able to observe electric supercars and luxurious vehicles such as the McLaren Artura Spider, nanoFlowcell’s Quantino and the brand new Bertone GB110. The show also featured the young art prodigy Aran La who came from England to see and draw the fabulous vehicles and influencer GMK, who unveiled his new Mansory G-Class alongside the Prince.
