Final wild cards awarded for the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters

The 118th edition of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, played on the legendary clay courts of the Monte-Carlo Country Club (M.C.C.C.) from 5th to 13th April 2025, announced the recipients of the final wild cards for the singles qualifying rounds and the doubles main draw.

These invitations allow talented players to take part in this historic ATP Masters 1000 tournament. Chaired by Melanie-Antoinette de Massy, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters kicks off the European clay court season.

As a reminder, Tournament Director David Massey previously announced that Richard Gasquet, Fabio Fognini, Stan Wawrinka and Valentin Vacherot have been awarded wild cards into the main draw.

Wild Cards for the singles qualifying draw

  • Pierre-Hugues Herbert (FRA): A former world number 36, the Frenchman has played Monte-Carlo five times, qualifying on three occasions. Currently ranked 169th, he will be hoping to return to top form on the Monaco clay.
  • Dusan Lajovic (SRB): A finalist at the 2019 Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, the Serb, currently ranked 109th, returns with the ambition of rediscovering the form that saw him reach the final.
  • Gabriel Diallo (CAN): The Canadian, currently ranked 81, is a rising star on the international tennis scene. His recent achievements include reaching the third round of the US Open last year, where he defeated Arthur Fils. He also reached the final of the ATP 250 event in Kazakhstan last October.
  • Nikolai Budkov Kjaer (NOR): At just 18 years of age, the Norwegian is ranked 287 and has made a strong impression by winning the ITF World Champion title in 2024. His impressive junior record includes a singles title at Wimbledon 2024, a runner-up finish at the US Open 2024, a doubles title at Roland-Garros 2024 and a semi-final appearance at the Australian Open 2024. A member of the Monte-Carlo Country Club since 2018, the young prodigy has also won the M.C.C.C. summer junior tournament in the U12, U13 and U14 categories between 2018 and 2020, as well as the Tennis Europe Junior Masters Monte-Carlo U16 in 2022.

Wild Cards for the doubles main draw

  • Romain Arneodo (MON) / Manuel Guinard (FRA): A Franco-Monegasque duo looking to shine on home soil.
  • Petros Tsitsipas (GRE) / Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE): The Tsitsipas brothers, of whom Stefanos is a former singles champion at the tournament, will put on an exciting show.
  • Arthur Rinderknech (FRA) / Valentin Vacherot (MON): A strong team looking to make an impact in the doubles competition with the support of the home crowd.
