The roars of the Grand Prix Formula 1 have barely dissipated in the streets of the Principality. Now, the sound of the auctioneer’s hammer will be taking centre stage during the Monaco Car Auctions, happening on 8 June with an exhibition on June 7 and 8 at the Grimaldi Forum.
This year’s auction will be exclusively Ferrari, with fifty models from 1956 to 2022 going under the hammer. An exquisite Ferrari Enzo, offered directly from the private collection of two-time Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso, is expected to fetch over €5,000,000 during the auction.
SBM’s profits have Doubled over Last Financial Year
In a recent press release, the Société des Bains de Mer confirmed that the 2022/2023 financial year broke all records in terms of profit. The group revealed that profits have doubled compared to the previous year: 72.2 million euros in profit over the past year, compared to 35.4 million euros for the previous year. The Société des Bains de Mer and its subsidiaries achieved a turnover of 667 million euros for 2022/2023 compared to 530.5 million euros in 2021/2022, or a 26% increase. The €136.5 million increase in turnover is the result of improved revenues in all of its business sectors.
Monaco Fire and Emergency Service: official visit from Brignoles
The Commanding Officer of the Civil Defence Instruction and Intervention Unit No. 7 (UIISC 7) based in Brignoles, Colonel Philippe BERTRAN DE BALANDA recently made an official visit to the Condamine Emergency Response Centre. He was welcomed by Lieutenant-Colonel Maxime YVRARD, Commanding Officer, and met the personnel of the Monaco Fire and Emergency Service and the authorities of the Ministry of Interior: Patrice CELLARIO, Minister of Interior, Christophe PRAT, Director General, and Colonel Tony VARO, Supreme Commander of the Military Force, with whom he attended the Changing of the Guard at 11:55 a.m. on the Square of the Prince’s Palace. During the day he inspected the Fire Guard, the offices of the Chief of Staff, the Condamine and Fontvieille Emergency Response Centres, the equipment and response vehicles and the Event Management and Emergency Operations Centre (CGECOS).
With 568 highly qualified fire and rescue personnel, UIISC 7 is a unit of the French Land Army, part of the engineer force, and available to the Ministry of the Interior. It is on permanent alert and maintains specialist detachments to assist in any natural or technological disaster, in times of peace or war, both in France and abroad.
