As the 2024 Monaco Run draws near, anticipation builds around the elite runners gearing up to grace the starting line next Sunday. With five men and five women poised to vie for victory in their respective categories, the stage is set for an exhilarating showdown.
Scheduled for February 10th and 11th, the Monaco Run upholds its cherished tradition of hosting a series of races through the Principality’s streets. The action kicks off at 8:30 am on Saturday, featuring the commencement of the 12-km City Trail and the inaugural 30-km Trail du Mont Agel, a notable addition to this year’s lineup.
Later in the day, several 1000m age-group races will unfold, adding a dynamic element to the event’s festivities. Come Sunday, the spotlight shines on the return of some of the event’s signature distances, beginning at 9:15 am with the 5km race, now proudly sponsored by Hoka.
With the race just around the corner, organizers unveiled the top 5 men and women who have confirmed their participation in the Principality. In the men’s category, all eyes are on France’s Yann Schrub, a formidable contender boasting an impressive track record, including the 2023 European Cross-Country Championship title. However, Schrub faces stiff competition from Niels Laros, Nils Serre Gheri, Jonathan Davis, and Pietro Riva.
Meanwhile, in the women’s division, Megan Keith and Selah Busienei emerge as frontrunners, backed by their remarkable achievements in the realm of European athletics.
There are Past Records to build on including:

14:44 – Sifan HASSAN (Record Women’s Race – 2019)
12:51 – Joshua CHEPTEGEI (Men’s Record – 2020)
Not to forget Franco Swiss Julien Wanders who ran 13:29 in world record time in 2019.
At 10 am, participants in the 10-km race will embark on their journey, tracing a scenic route from Port Hercule to Monte-Carlo Beach. This picturesque circuit, covering a distance of 5km, will be traversed twice, promising participants a memorable experience against Monaco’s stunning backdrop.
Adding to the excitement, the 12th Pink Ribbon Walk will kick off from quai Albert Ier, rallying participants in support of breast cancer prevention and awareness. As hundreds of participants mobilize to champion this noble cause, funds raised will contribute to breast cancer screening studies in Monaco, furthering the fight against this prevalent disease.
Participants of all ages and abilities are welcomed to join the Pink Ribbon Walk, which offers a scenic 5km circuit passing iconic landmarks such as the Palace, the Cathedral, and the Monte-Carlo Casino. In a touching display of solidarity, participants will write messages of support or tribute to breast cancer victims on their bibs, symbolizing a collective commitment to raising awareness and honoring those affected by the disease.
Furthermore, activities such as raffle ticket sales and commemorative t-shirt distribution, courtesy of partner SBM OFFSHORE, will add to the sense of community and camaraderie surrounding the event. With children under 13 years old welcome to participate for free and furry friends encouraged to join, the Pink Ribbon Walk embodies inclusivity and compassion.
Whether participating as a tribute to a loved one, in support of a breast cancer patient, or simply to raise awareness, the Pink Ribbon Walk offers a poignant reminder of the far-reaching impact of breast cancer and the importance of solidarity in the face of adversity. As participants lace up their shoes and gather on the Port Hercules, they unite in a shared mission to make a difference, one step at a time.
The Monaco Run heralds a weekend of exhilarating competition and philanthropy in the heart of the Principality.
