Christmas Ball in Monaco had great success

While the Rose Ball is the main social event of the spring, in winter all the Monegasque elite attend the annual Christmas Ball.

The Ball, organized by the agency “5 Stars Events” with the support of Audemars Piguet and Le Brassus took place on December 16th in the luxurious Belle Époque hall of the Hermitage Hotel. The annual ball held under the patronage of Princess Charlene marks the beginning of Christmas festivities in the Principality.

This year Sandrine Garbagnati Knoell, founder of “5 Stars Events”, invited the guests to make their way through a tropical jungle as the theme of the winter ball. The tables were decorated with palm branches and beautiful ornamental butterflies completed the New Year’s scene.

The designer Philipp Plein, Lady Monica Bacardi, Princess Camille de Bourbon with her husband, and vice-president of FC Monaco Vadim Vasiliev were among the guests who attended the ball this year.

On top of lively musical performances by Swedish-Congolese singer Mohombi, Ellys Leon and DJ Andrea T Mendoza, a traditional auction in favour of the Princess Charlene Foundation was part of the Christmas Ball agenda. Six lots were sold on the night, including an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore watch and a photoshoot for the next issue of HelloMonaco magazine, won by Camilla da Bourbon, Princess of the Two Sicilies. Thanks to the generosity of the guests, the auction raised about 50.000 euros.

As you may well know, the Princess Charlene Foundation aims at teaching children swimming, safety in the water and help in emergency situations.  It is working permanently on various training programs and holding events with the participation of top-level athletes. Importantly, it also passes on a sense of social responsibility through sport to the younger generation. To-date, the organization has successfully implemented 149 projects in 33 countries around the world. In addition, this year the Princess Charlene Foundation celebrates its 5th anniversary.
